Countries and sales

Hi everyone

Here's something I'm unclear on.

I'm in the UK but I always add all countries to my campaigns for maximum traffic. During the day I get good sales, and my profit decent. At night the sales continue but there's a problem too.

The profit does not increase in line with what you'd expect from the click increase.

Obviously different countries are waking up and the clicks flood in. It's almost worth turning off the traffic for the night sometimes.

My question is should I exclude some countries? Is there something else I should be doing to track country profitabilty?

Thanks and all the best!

I'd group each country or groups of countries by campaign (using a unique tracking code per) and monitor each market's performance. Or, you could review your logs to identify the underperforming countries to remove... but, personally, I'd start with your primary market(s) and expand from there. You'll learn many interesting things about each market and be able to tweak accordingly.

Elric99,

I would also make a pitch here for Google Analytics. It will allow you to cross segment your keyword performance by country so you can separate the browsers from the buyers and start eliminating the non-converters.

The number if invitations being sent out has been massively increased lately, so signing up for one on the Analytics tab in your AdWords account should see an invitation in your email box shortly.
