New Ad Placement Position

Google says it's an "experiment"

No ads on the side at all.

Many of our searches only display one or two ads. Sometimes ONLY at the bottom of the page.

Very strange. Google says they are conducting an "experiment" on small number of searches.

Anyone else seeing this?

I've seen it for the past few days. I don't like it. It is the only format I'm seeing with my IE browser so I'm not sure about the "small number of searches" thing.

I have been seeing it only for a few days too. All of my searches.

I think having many fewer ads is a mistake. There are no side ads anymore. This will cripple our advertising if it goes through.

Looks like only the top 1-4 ads get seen at all on the first page.

I hope this "experiment" doesn't become SOP.

There have been a least a couple of threads about this so far - though I don't recall exactly was said. So I'll just confirm here that this is a test, and the number of searches for which it appears is very limited.

jam2005, if you try another computer (or clear cookies on your current computer) you are unlikely to see the test again.
