Adwords based on location

We have a web based business that does business in 45 of 50 states in the US. Is there a way of excluding searchers in those 5 states so our ads do not appear when they search for our keyword? This would really save us some money.

Edit Campaign Settings -> Locations... choose the 45 states you cover. Create a keyword list that has no geoqualifiers (state names)... and, voila.
