Google toolbar provides different results than google itself?

This may have been discussed here before, but I'm curious to know why.

I'm starting to notice that when I search for my ads using google's toolbar, it seems like it provides an old cached version of the search. My results are not the same as if I'm using Google itself.

Just curious if anyone else notices this, or if maybe I just have an adware.

Actually, this is not uncommon if you refer to the organic search results. It is said that Google has different servers (or data centers?) for Google itself and the toolbar. I bet you can see a lot of discussions on this in the Google News forum.
