I put an adwords conversion code in a page. When somebody buys is directed there.

Now, how do I exclude bots? Since every hit to that page will look like a conversion?

Should I enter something in robots txt or put no index no follow meta tag?
?

To be honest I can't imagine how the search engine bots would find themselves on a thank you page after making a purchase.

Regardless however, these visits would not be counted as conversions back in AdWords, nor would any purchaser who came from any other search engine, a direct visit or elsewhere, because it relies on cookies stored in the users browser indicating that they had previously clicked on your adwords ad. If that cookie did not indicate that, no conversion would be recorded by Google.

You are right. So that means that my own visits to edit that page will not count as conversions. Only those that comes from an adwords ad.

I'm conversion tracker newbie, but how do you do to track other referrers conversion beyond adwords, such us other websites or other cpc engines?

Furthermore my idea is to send the link to that page by email once they contacted me coming thru adwords:

1) Visitor click adwords ad
2) Visitor send me email
3) We send an email with link to conversion page
4) Visitor clicks that link and Adwords counts a conversion

Is that correct?
