Hi all,

Maybe one of you can figure this one out as I am out of ideas why this can happen. I have been seeing big ups and downs in my adwords campaigns, (number of impressions, clicks etc) and this has been going on for a few weeks.

I went through my stats and compared them with another account and both accounts have the same language setting, all regions shown, both have almost the same max cpc and daily budgets. Both only have search activated and not search network or content

My campaign for a certain day for [widget123] has 220 impressions and 100% served and the other other account has [widget123] has 1900 impressions and is only activated 12 hours per day while mine is activated 24 hours per day. Neither campaign ever gets near their daily budget

I have checked everything and it simply doesnt make any sense to me. I got a bad headache, anyone an idea what can be the reason for this big difference?

It could be to do with the fact that what you describe is frowned upon by Google. 2 accounts showing ads for the same term is a TOS breaker (unless for 2 different companies that are not linked and you are managing the campaigns, then it's just a conflict of interest issue).

If you are trying to get 2 adverts to show at the same time for 2 sites owned by yourself then expect to see impressions go down to 0 for both at some time in the future.

If there is a legitimate reason for what you describe then I'm at a loss to explain it.

Lol, no they are not owned by the same company but a friend of mine is actually a competitor but we like to check with one and other to see if what adwords is showing us is similar. I have seen the stats and set up with my own eyes so its actual real stats that I mentioned before

I forgot to mention, its not for one set of keywords or one campaigs, its for a variet of keywords and across numerous campaigns.

Another strange thing is that I tested the option where you can select where your ad should show and where not and I tested one campaign which should not have shown in one country however it still showed there ( this was not for 5 minutes but a long period of time) Whats the use of having that option and then its not worlking

Yes, our 3+ year old campaigns' impressions are all down this week and our rankings are dropping from top-5 to bottom-5. I attributed this to everyone else's bid prices being forced up by Google, leaving ours behind. I guess our turn will come.
