geotargeting another country

See ad competition from a country where I do not reside

I use geotargeting for Austria, Germany and UK but I am located elsewhere. I cannot see my competitors's ads displayed in my target countries. Is there a way to learn how a certain google query looks in Austria, for instance?

Simply type your queries in: google.at, google.de, google.com.au and others.

Voila.

Find a proxy in that country.

ogletree, if you set your language settings appropriately (which I forgot to mention) and type your query in the appropriate domain - how would a proxy differ?

I see German ads in DE and AT, French ads in FR, etc. just fine.

yes, setting the language preferences to German showed a lot more ads than just accessing google.at without setting language preferences.

Thank you.

It was just one way of many to do it.

You can also do it this way:

Search for your favourite term in Google and then in the URL line add this to the end of the URL - &gl=us or ca or uk...
