I am trying to obtain facts on the effects of marketing with pay per click search engine hits I an a student of DeVry University and I am doing a report on the adult industry and marketing techniques used.

My professor has given me these questions to ask.

How many hits come from pay per click search engines versus conventional advertising?

How much is a good starting price for pay per click hits? For a low budget, medium budget, and high advertising budget.

I have more questions that I am looking for but I'm just trying to get a start right now.

Thanks in advance for any help.

All of this stuff is industry-specific, sector-specific, and product-specific.

I'd suggest that you ask about SOURCES of data at adult-industry forums. Don't think you'll get too far simply asking others to do your homework for you.

There's one dominant magazine for the indutry, that also has several websites covering various segments of the industry. They also run the industry's biggest yearly convention. You might want to start there.

Google does allow adult advertising, though it's constrained by not being able to use "adult" language in ads. (Though you can use it for keywords.) I'd imagine most adult-industry advertising is done elsewhere.
