Has anyone else noticed a huge spike in seemingly fraudulent Content Targeting clicks?

To be honest, I was not keeping all that clsoe an eye on the content marketing clicks, but my January 2006 clicks were 1,069 when back in June 2005 they were 72!

I had lower bid settings on my content campaign, so no red flags shot off over the past few months as the target content clicks grew, but January definitely got my attention.

It seems the majority of these clicks are from spam directories from China and other countries that have nothing to do with the products I sell.

TOday is a turning point in my attitude towards google - unless their click review team comes up with a remedy (refunds) - My feeling is that Adwords (especially content targeting) is just a scam...bummer

My advice to other is : TURN OFF CONTENT TARGETING in your Adwords campaigns

Hi,

IMHO you have to be very careful with both Search and Content networks in Asia; sites can't be excluded in the former, negative keywords seem only partially effective in either, and G has let some real shady characters in to both it seems to me.

This is not only an issue Asia, but it seems especially bad for campaigns showing there.

PS. AWA, please signal your higher-ups that the two networks, especially domain parking, can be a bit of a Curate's Egg (largely rotten though excellent in parts) and as a publisher I'd certainly like a finer-grained control of where my stuff gets shown, especially in the Search Network...
