Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this situation.

I have a number of broad matched high volume keywords. These have been running absolutely fine for about a year now. Since last weekend the impressions and subsequently the clicks have dropped to about half to a third of the previous levels. From doing searches it appears the my ads are not now showing for the broad terms such as 'blue widget' 'red widget' etc. I am surprised by this as the click rate is still really strong and no different than it was historically. With the exception of increasing the CPC the account has not been changed in any way.

I have checked the usual things such as daily budget etc but just can't figure out why this might be happening. Any advice gratefully received.

hi bobby,

from what you have said this could be happening.

by increasing your CPC and not increasing your daily budget it WILL show less immpressions and clicks. as you are paying more per click it uses the daily budget quicker therefore decreasing the no of impress/clicks you can get for the same daily budget.

are you still reaching you daily budget limit each day?

Hi briggidere,

Thats a really good thought. My logic was that by increasing the CPC it would maybe force the broad match to kick back in. I think your logic is right here and it might be limiting the impressions as it thinks it will exceed the daily budget (although in reality it hasn't ever exceeded it).

I'll drop the CPC back down and see if that pushes the impressions back up.

Thanks for your help.
