Maybe this is old news, but the AdWords backend now has an option to put in a second credit card as a fallback if billing the first one fails.

I have tried this and had some problems. Here's what happened:

- Added new backup to the account which seemed fine for several weeks but then the account stopped working
- Contacted Adwords and was told the account was 'under review'. After about a day I was told to re-enter my primary card details again
- This appeared to work but I quickly realised that by re-entering my primary card details it had overwritten the backup card ADDRESS details.
- I then tried to correct the backup card address and this in turn overwrote the primary card address.

I ended up in a vicious circle where each change overwrote the other making the card details incorrect.

My solution has been to have the same card for the primary and backup which kind of defeats the point of this. Be aware that once entered you are unable to delete your backup card details, you can only amend them.

I don't know if this bug is sorted out yet but I am loathed to change anything now as I lost five days advertising while this all went on.
