Was Friday a holiday in the US

Been waiting since Thursday for my ads to get approved. Nothing yet. Wrote to google twice already, still no reply. Anyone else facing ad approval problems?
We should have some google support on weekends...

If you're talking about ads that need a human review either to show at all or to appear on Search/Content, you'll have to be a bit more patient.

Generally, ads that I submit on a Thursday will get approved Tuesday if I'm lucky

Actually, Thursday was a holiday in the US - Groundhog Day.

Groundhog Day isn't a holiday. It isn't an official holiday, and it's not a federal holiday. It's simply a tradition that falls on February 2 every year.

I can assure you that the folks at Google did not take off on Groundhog Day! :)

Friday was the Friday before Super Bowl Weekend. Not an official holiday, but things were still pretty slow.

Wow I thought waiting for 24 hours for approvals was bad enough, but thursday to tuesday that more than half a week.

I took off Groundhog's Day ;)

The ideal days to submit changes seem to be Tuesday and Wednesday. At some point during that period, they've cleared up the weekend backlog and are ready for more.

Sometimes I've seen my ads approved same day on Wednesday when I've checked. In fact, I'm putting off some major changes for Tuesday night hoping to be near first in queue for Wednesday.

Having said that to all, that trick probably won't work anymore ;)
