How many here actually search their keywords during the day?

I check my ads quite often during the day, just to see the actual ranking, and to keep an eye out for new competition.

I've been noticing my accounts going offline and back on during the day for almost a week now. Sometimes for most of the day. Very frustrating. My accounts will not show that they are down, but none of my keywords will trigger ads at all.

Do most of you do actual searches of your adwords during the day? If so, how often?

The important subset of keywords about twice a day, more frequent when I do changes to campaigns. Sometimes only a few times a week - depending on my other workload.

Well not too often(mostly only when there seems to be a problem) and for only a few keywords.

I search the keywords when making bid or keyword changes. After that, I keep an eye on average position in the AdWords account itself.

Not sure I'm reading that right, but do you mean that you search for phrases you're targeting and don't see your ads at times? I'm not sure how to interpret that "none of my keywords will trigger ads at all."

Assuming that is what you mean, it's not evidence that your account is "going offline and back on." More likely it's just that the terms are searched often enough that your set budget/CTR don't allow your ads to be placed every time someone does the search.

My budget is set much much higher than I ever use, therefore my ads should always show up when searched.

This happens to me too. Sometimes my ads do not show and then i log into my account and it says they're being served 100%

I'm taking a break from adwords (long story). When I was using them, I would check every other day. Sometimes they would show with my main keywords and sometimes they wouldn't. I assumed in the latter cases that I had met my daily limit and didn't worry about it much.
