We recently opened a new Google account due to Analytics data being diluted from several different websites in the old account.

The campaign we ported over to the new account is 100% the same but with the same bids, keywords are much lower.

For example: Old account,
widgets / 0.25p Position 4-5

New account,
widgets / 0.25 Postion 14-16

The campaigns are idential... same keywords, adgroups, bids, ads

Why is this?

Any help really appreciated.

The CTR history of keywords (within your account) is used by google when deciding what position to display your advert. Unfortunately, as your new account has no history, you're back at square one. Over-bidding for a few weeks may accelerate your return to the top positions.

Does anyone know if this goes on the CTR of the campaign / adgroup / keyword.

Or all of the above or a combination?

This would help me understand how i might quickly increase positions again.

All of them. The history for campaign and adgroup and keyword all have an effect, maybe even account. So you are starting from the worst position, you have no history for any of them. You should expect to have to pay much more than your old account initially.

Even the ads you run have history...
