Hi everyone :)

This forum is so cool. I've learn't a lot about how to construct a good Adwords Campaign after reading many posts here at Webmasterworld :)

But, now I have a question. I have a report which teaches you how to boost your Google Pagerank fast, and I wanna bid on the keyword Pagerank. I created a separate Adgroup just for the keyword and add the keyword 'pagerank', with the match types. I wrote my ad, and included the word Pagerank in my ad; my ad was disapproved, so I changed it from Pagerank to PR. Okay, so I thought I was all good and my ads would show now. I searched in Google and couldn't find my ad, and checked with the Ad Diagnostic Tool, it said that my ad wouldn't show because the keyword I'm bidding on, 'pagerank' is trademarked. Odd, because when I searched for Pagerank in Google, I saw another person's ad for some Pagerank software.

... My question is, how is he doing it? How is he bidding on the term 'pagerank' even though it is trademarked? Is there a way to get around it? Is it possible to bid on trademarked terms?

Any help greatly appreciated :)

Many thanks,
Azhar

It's been my experience that if Google's sytem flags a word as being trademarked during the campaign/AdGroup creation process, you can 'request an exception' by clicking the link for that purpose.

If Google denies you, still, you could send them a note explaining why you want to bid on the trademarked term and how it is that you have authority to use it.
