Serious bug in ads today!

I am having the same problem as deep_alley and johndenver. I ran the ad diagnostic tool and it says I have exceeded my daily budget, which is also not the case. All campaigns seem to shut down when total spending for the entire account reaches about $10. This happened Saturday, Sunday and today already. There are dozens of campaigns in the account, all with campaign spending limit caps of several hundred dollars. We usually spend $3-400 per day and are now only able to spend $10 per day. Nothing is even close hitting the spending caps. I've emailed Google three times over the weekend and again today and got no response (no surprise there). We're losing 99% of our traffic because of this. If you have any suggestions or have found a way around this, please do share it!

I think that sounds like theres a review on your account, Im sure some people have reported reviews seem to take place after a certain number of impressions or clicks, and theres no way of knowing your account is under review.

how long does a review normally take and what are they looking for? could it be a bad thing or could one assume that we've finally spent enough to get our own account rep?

Well have run a few accounts before and never encountered something so drastic. From something like 70k impressions, it was down to 2000+ and click numbers were even worse.
I started everything up in a new account fsm2005. Got tired of waiting and couldnt afford to just sit and wait. No reply from google either. Doubt you will be able to do this though. Sounds like you have a number of campaigns (I had a small number of ad groups so it wasnt too painful). Anyway if you hear anything from google, please let me know. I'm totally baffled and would like to know whats going on.

Is anyone else seeing this? Have any of you with this bug seen any resolution? It is now an official business day at Google and nothing has changed for us.

If its account reviews then I've heard of peoples accounts being mostly useless for a number of days, only getting trickle of traffic no matter what they did. Then suddenly, back on and everything normal.

Can you confirm whether Google would automatically check for this issue and give us a credit, or whether we have to find it on our end and then raise it to our Reps? Given the number of campaigns on my mind it will be a chore for us.

Well ronmcd is absolutely correct. I finally got a reply from google saying that my account was under review. I also replied asking them why the account was under review and why there was such a big fall in number of clicks and impressions. Lets see what they reply. Anyway I copied everything into a new account and its doing very well, so I'm happy. But I do wish I hadnt lost out on 3-4 days last week when I got very few clicks.

strangely we never heard anything from them about a review. it just got really slow for about 3-4 days and late yesterday it picked up again and today spend is back to normal. it is really strange!

If it is of help to anyone else in this situation, they finally did send an email today.

They are definitely making some changes to the system, today.

For example, you know how in Google Analytics, when you're asked whether you want G to add 'additional information' to the end of your Target URLs to assist in performing more in-depth Analytics?

That finally happened, sometime today. There is now a "

gclid=

" attribute appended to the end of our URLs.

So, if nothing else, we can say definitively that things are underway, over at Google. Probably be ironed out in the morning ...
