Has anyone ever been double billed by Google-Adwords?

If so - is it difficult to get it credited?

My adwords have been going gangbusters this month. Adwords is set to take $500 from my credit card as soon as it hits that mark - which is happening on a daily basis lately. My creditcard (which is actually my paypal account) has been doulbe charged.

Normally I wouldn't have noticed it, but I happened to notice 2 charges for exactly the same price - like 522.19 or something similar. One was like 8hrs right after the other. When I checked my Google adwords account - I was only given credit for one of them. I decided to wait and see if it shows up, but it has now been over 24 hrs and no credit for one of them.

Anyone else have this happen?

Just contact support.
I'm pretty sure they will clear it up.

venrooy, long story short, the chances are that what looks like two charges are actually one charge and one 'authorization' (which will not turn into a charge).

In any case, Tropical Island is absolutely correct in advising that you contact AdWords support.

To answer the second question in your subject line, no, it will not be difficult at all. If we, (or our credit card processors) have made a billing error, we will happily fix it.

Hi, both are shown as a debt card purchase to google adwords. The oldest one shows as still pending, but they both have been taken from my account - which doesn't make any sense. Usually if a company puts a hold on money before charging - they will imediately release it upon actually charging the account. Right now this shows as a double dipping from my end.

I have no problem covering this - I have plenty of money in there. I just know that these type of mistakess (if that's what this is) can add up quickly. eBay lost several big sellers over a double billing glitch that they didn't head off in time. They could have easily seen and prevented this problem if they had any sort of legitimate customer service.

So far I have had no problems with customer support from Google. Thank you Google.

I have seen similar things like this back in the day, when my billing was going daily.

They would sometimes double authorize the same invoice( i.e. show as pending/ hold on your funds), . But it would only settle as one billing.

Why do they double authorize the same invoice? Is this necessary? I'm having this happen to me a few times a week now. While it eventually ends up as only one charge, the funds from the second authorization are put on hold for several days - This is getting rediculous. I currently have several thousand of my own dollars that I can not access because google is continuing to double authorize these invoices.

Venrooy, I apologize for the hassle. This is certainly not the norm, and arises from an issue with a payment processor which was understood to have been resolved.

If you're still seeing this occur, then I hope you'll contact AdWords support and provide them with details. There are literally a handful of accounts that are having this issue, and your 'working example' would prove very useful in getting it resolved.

Again, my apology. And thanks in advance for sending details, should you choose to do so.

Hi, I'm working with a rep now. I'm glad to hear that it's not happening on a larger scale. I'm sure they'll resolve it soon. They're probably trying to swing back into gear after the holidays and such. Thanks for the response.
