Does anyone here use image ads? And if so - How well do they work for you? Do you get a good CTR?

Thanks

It definitely depends on what and where you are advertising.

Like all ads in the content network, Image ads tend to get a lower CTR than search. But, if you are looking to do a branding campaign, there are very few sources of such low CPM placements. And, if your offer is appealing and compelling, it can certainly be effective.

We've tried them for a number of clients. The ads must look professional. Good photography, photo of the product, etc. Some clients get good conversion. It depends on the product, etc.

I've had good luck in certain sectors, and bad in others.

Often it goes toward campaign goals. If you are introducing a new product, it's often hard to use straight search and there isn't search demand yet.

Using ancillary and benefit keywords on image ads can really help a new product launch.

Thanks for the replies - I may have to try it out, if the right product comes along.
