New Account Problems

I have a little experience with adwords and have managed accounts in the past, however yesterday I experienced a problem I have never come across before.

I have set up an entirely new Adwords campaign, verified my email address to prove it is valid. Entered all my keywords and adverts. Set up all my billing and payment information. Then 24 hours later no clicks and even no impressions.

The area of the campaign is fairly competitive, however I have always been able to get impressions in all my other accounts. I then tried using the tools option and the ads diagnostics tool and entered one of my keywords and get the following message:

You have no ads that match the search term "blue widgets"

Reason

The keyword phrase you've entered doesn't currently trigger any of your ads.

What does this mean?

You may receive this message if the keyword or keyword phrase you've entered:

Is in a paused or deleted Ad Group or campaign.
Doesn't exist in your account.

The keyword DOES exist in the ad group and the ad group is NOT paused.

I have emailed Google about this however it is of the utmost importance to get this account online and running, is there a telephone number for Google UK as I am worried that I will receive an automated response even though I am pretty sure that the problem lies at Googles end?

Is it a new account, not just new campaign?

If its a new account google will review all your ads before activating them, which can take a few days. Once the account has been running a while you will be able to start campaigns immediately I think. Im pretty sure thats what it is.

I dont think theres a UK adwords phone number.

That's right ronmcd its a brand new stand alone campaign. Thanks for the information as I was getting into a panic since the ad had not become active.

Thanks again for your help ronmcd.
