Google ads page now says:
"If you are an advertiser or agency looking to spend $5,000 per month or more on Google AdWords, learn more or contact sales."

What does this service include?

The FAQ doesn't really answer the question though. It doesn't say what is included. Do they monitor ads? Do they suggest keywords? Or is it only the "special" phone number that allows you to call customer service rather than email them? They don't even mention the phone #.

I think it has been said before but I will say it again. OV and adwords do a diservice to themselves by claiming that they have special customer service for the big spenders. This may be true but getting on that list, even if you are a big spender (by their definition) is more trouble than it is worth. All they manage to do with their claim is irritate people.

It is our experience that you can get to the man and his nice female assistant by calling Google directly.

If you currently spend BIG BUCKS they will do whatever needs to be done to make you happy.

Hello all - I've been just lurking for several weeks but had to come out of my shell on this topic! I've been begging and pleading for some sort of 'large advertiser' customer service for weeks and weeks! All this and I don't think I really qualify as 'small potatoes' either - my total spending between my two accounts is well over $7000 monthly. What really gets my goat is that they have a hard time recognizing my total spend instead of each account - yet the only reason i am forced to use two logins is that i surpassed their arbitrary number of campaigns in each! ARGH! I have used their 'special' dial-in number, and they are definitely responsive...but IMHO, if they want to compete with Overture's customer service they need to support the 'big spenders' with some serious increases in service...

sorry my debut on this board was with a rant!

I agree with you. OV won't up my status until I've been with them a year (By then I will be diamond level) but at least they call when you get there. Adwords on the other hand, unless you track down the "the man and his nice female assistant", no one will pay the least bit attention to you.

I'm not asking for hand holding. I am more than happy to take care of my own listings. But good business says that if you have a client spending a large amount of money, you should give them a call once in awhile to make sure things are going well. OV, while they won't up my status for a year, would do well to give me (or other big spenders) a call and say, "Hey, we're thinking about you and we'd like to make sure that you reach that diamond level when your time is up. Are there any issues we can help with?" Even if they can't help, it's nice to know that I mean something to them. Adwords could do the same. It's just good business.

PPC is getting flooded with new options and engines everyday. At some point in time, one of those other choices will become a competitor with OV and adwords and people will have to decide where their budget goes to. It is a whole lot easier to move your money elsewhere when your dealing with a computer screen rather than "Bill" the adwords rep or "Jane" the OV rep.
