So I was getting annoyed that Adwords didn't work in Opera 8, and decided to email Google. Today I got a reply:

Thank you for your patience while I consulted our technical team on why you have been experiencing difficulty using AdWords with an Opera browser.

Our technical team have looked into the matter and have informed me that AdWords does not support the Opera Browser. We would kindly ask that you use Internet Explorer or Firefox as an alternative.

Bugger. I love Opera, and now they say I can't use it. I think this is really poor showing from Google.

Same here. I had to switch back to firefox. Using opera used to be ok when logging on to adwords, I just don't understand why it doesn't work now. Did they do it intentionally so people using opera are forced to switch to firefox? Why?

heh. Google doesn't *hate* Opera... Google was the one who made Opera ad-free! Google just wants to keep its development costs down..

I only emailed general ADwords Support. I wonder if I emailed our account manager, who knows how much we use adwords (we use it this much: a lot), if I'd get a different response.

This is annoying me too. I've sent them an email, and would recommend other Opera users do likewise.

Hi all, sorry not to have responded in this tread earlier - perhaps I could have prevented a little unnecessary angst.

First of all, no, Google does not hate Opera. ;)

Long story short: currently there is an issue, work is underway to resolve it, and it should be smooth sailing again in the near future.

My apologies for the difficulty, and thanks in advance for your patience.
