If you have noted as various threads are showing G is in trouble though it is working with NASA & SUN.
But Adwords account is not more useful because you cannot set price correctly due to its flawful predictions about clicks.
And on other side Adsense some may say that it is still very good. But i am hearing ppl are saying about its Ads Targeting quality is in trouble.
And recently Ads Preview Tool was dead also.

Hmm.

You talk as if these problems are new, they are not. There have always been problems with adwords click estimates, and occassionally adsense targetting goes haywire. Business as usual.

Personally I think adwords and adsense are both very good, better than their competitors. So why would google be frightenend?

They are still light years ahead of anyone else. I bash them but I am big user and will continue to be for as long as they will have me.

Google just pocketed four billion dollars, if they have anything to fear it is complacency.

I try not to form opinions unless it's based on my own experience. While I haven't heard the same, I would still await widespread issues.

And recently Ads Preview Tool was dead also.
That was also relayed to me by a client, but the same holds true for a lot of Yahoo's tools from time to time. Long story short, these systems are massive in size. If they weren't down from time to time for updates, then I suspect we would begin complaining about the lack of features.

In terms of the general topic though of Google being frightened -- I would sharply disagree. Google has had one of the most successful IPO launches in tech history, and while they're stock may be extremely overvalued, they continue to play a strong role in the 'net's publicity.

Excellent topic though regarding whether or not they are frightened. I haven't been a Google fan for quite a long time, but I'm not about to pass judgement on them as failing either.

Sure google's traffic estimator doesn't really give an accurate prediction and a few other improvements would benefit both G and its advertisers. However, Adwords is still light years ahead of YSM. I use both.

Googles adwords program is very fair. It rewards performance with lower overall advertising costs. YSM's auctioning system provides no incentives for high CTR and my cost per click is 3 times the cost of Adwords.

IMO YSM is the one on the defensive...not Adwords. If Google continues to gain joe/jane searcher market share...YSM will be forced to make major changes to keep their existing advertisers. Making matters even more critical for YSM is the fact the MSN is progressing to its own PPC program.

As long as Google continues to treat its patrons right, they have nothing to worry about.

I think how frightened Google should be, depends on how far it looks ahead and how fast it can think.

Adsense should most certainly be frightened right now. When support just failed to resolve an issue I told them it didn't matter I'd discovered an amazing new competitor and they could take a running jump.

Well I was more polite than that, but thats the short version. One webmaster won't scare them a bit - but perhaps in this case it should. The Visigoths are upon the horizon and I don't mean Yahoo.

I am both a publisher and an advertiser.

Google has made my life comfortable when I would have sunk into oblivion.

They have my support for as long as they will have me.

I use Adwords traffic estimator quite often and found that it's correct at least 90% of the time. Google has a bunch of world's smartest people in hand so I think they can do their job.

If only smart people made a smart company! Unfortunately, collections of things often have entirely different qualities to the individual components.

And gratitude is a poor basis for making business decisions, but I see what the previous poster means.

Actually Google's employee breakdown looks something like this:

55% - Smart People
40% - Good looking people (go to the Google Dance anyone?)
4.99% - Good looking smart people (and no I'm not saying the other smart people are ugly)
.01% Fred in technical support

So remember when you send an e-mail to Google Support, it might take Fred a while to get to it.
