Ok, I just signed up for adwords and am running a small campaign for a couple of days at low cost to see how it affects my site traffic. I use adsense but I am lost with adwords..

A question I have is billing and ads

On billing, say I choose 3(300, etc) words for 1 campaign and set the max dollars a day to say 1 dollar. I assume it uses that dollar on a 3 words, not one dollar each correct?

Next question, on ads I assume you can have different variations of an ad running in the same campaign correct? Text with different sayings, picture ads etc?

yes and yes.

The campaign budget is for the entire campaign, not allocated in equal amounts to the ad groups.

One way to serve different ads to the same search phrase is to make multiple ads in the ad group. In "Edit Campaign Settings" select "automatically optimize ad serving for my ads," if you want Google to choose how often each ad is served.

If you want them to be served equally, do not check the box.
