My company has asked to to build adsense into our pages and over the last 6 months I've done it sucessfully.

Now they would like to start selling our product online and want to advertise with adwords. Is there someplace I can get up to speed quickly enough but also learn the complexities of adwords?

Im writing this while on a plane heading home to Boston from Chicago. They felt it important enough to fly me out here for 4 hour meeting. I ate at Michael Jordon's restaurant and fly home.

Thing with adwords is - you have to get good at writing ads, or it won't work.

Site Copy

Make sure this is damn good, as this is what you want to send visitors to from adwords itself.

Writing ads for Adwords

You'll find that a single advert on adwords will largely fail. So you want to write 3 ads and run them together for 1 or 2 weeks. Monitor the clickthroughs and delete the worst 2.

Keep the best one, and write 2 brand new ones. Repeat this process until you have a advert that's as perfect as you can get it. Keep that one and start again as many times as you need. You will certainly need more than 1 adword advert.

After that it really depends on what your needs are. Some like to have 1 adwords advert for every keyword/product or service - but that requiries deep pockets. 1 decent adwords ad is very good, but 3 is great.

Go here for the Google tutorials/CBT on how it all works from Google's point of view, then you want to go outside of Google (here, or other places) for advice on how to work within their system:
