Affiliate hijacking Adwords

Hi All
I own a web site which has affiliates advertising through adwords. Recently Google has replaced our own ads by an affiliate's Google ads. Our own Google ads are now being served with half the frequency they were being served a few months ago. Our own Google ads are very specific and land on the relevant product page with good conversion.

The affiliate is evidently getting a decent CTR, however all his ads land on our home page. This is leading to a lower conversion rate as the customer has to trawl through our website looking for the specific product. Google generated sales have been down 25% the last 2 months.

Should I increase the $ bid on our keywords or should I increase the monthly budget? Is there any definitive answer? I appreciate that the affiliate is just doing what I have asked of them, and I am always happy to pay affiliate commision,
however he is conducting a campaign which is inadvertently affecting our bottom line.

Thanks
Stuart

what not contact the affiliate to get him/her to get the click throughs to land on the right page? By working with your affiliates you have a potential win for both parties.

I always wondered if there had been any study done regarding whether landing on a home page versus landing on a product page directly is better. Some customers (ok, at least one - yours truly) prefer getting the big picture on a merchant first before diving in to purchase anything specific. Especially if you never heard of the merchant before & the purchase in question is sizeable, I would think.
