There are only three other sites bidding on this keyword so the competition for my company name keyword is not overwhelming. I assume the other bidders are bidding very high amounts? I may try dropping my max bid on my company name by 75% and see what happens.

I assume the other bidders are bidding very high amounts?If your company owns the tradmark, you can use it in the ad, the competition cannot. It's my understanding that they can bid on the trademarked term but can't use it in their ad. That would give you the upper hand. Play it out. Create a campaign, make ads that use the term in the title, description, url.. then use the keyword by itself. If some one searches for your term and only 3 ads appear, one of wich contains the term, who do you think is likely to get the click? Eventually, your *ctr will go up, their *cpc will go up, and you win. :-)

Do you own the trademark or does another company own the trademark. If you own it its possible by mailing Google you can get them to remove the adverts.Only if they are using it in the ad. If they are just bidding on the keyword, I think they are allowed (see gieco vs. google).
