Are my adwords ads stopping my site being added?

Using adwords for same keywords as site targets

I have a young site. It is a couple of months old. Because Google is yet to rank and list it (in its current state) I am using adwords to show the link on the right whenever someone searches for the main targetted keywords.
Google have crawled the new site more than 20 times in the time it has been active and always view more than a dozen pages. In the last week I have also created a full xml sitemap and submitted it to Google and I keep this updated. That has been checked more than 8 times.
I am also constantly adding to the site.

Here is the question:
Is there any chance that google are not listing me as I am paying for a keyword(s) I will be ranked high for and they know that I will remove the ads once the site is ranked correctly?

IE. I am only going to advertise with them until they list my site, as I know that it will come up in the top 5 when they do. Do they account for this or am I just being paranoid and I just haven't been added yet?

I have wondered about the same thing.

I have a domain where I used adwords ads from the time it opened. It has never had KW results above 30 on Google, but ranks #3 on Yahoo and #2 on MSN.

My other sites that that do not uses ads, or were well established before I started using adwords, all place in the top 10 for my KWs at Google

In theory google adwords is completely unconnected in any way from the natural google results, in the same way that advertising on google doesnt really help your natural ranking it also shouldnt hinder it.

If your site is a couple of months old then google wont rank you well until you get lots of good quality incoming links, and even then you are at a disadvantage as your links will be new and I believe they give less weight to new links.

It takes time to rank in google compared to the others, I think you should assume you wont be ranking at all for 6 months, although more quality incoming links will always help.

I understand that Ron is directing his comments to proper_bo. The site I have that, hasn't improved much in page rank, is over a year old.

This issue has been covered many times and answered by both GG and AWA.

There is no connection between your regular placement in the SERPS and your AdWords program.

Don't stress over it - it ain't happening.

Thank you. I did have a quick search but obviously missed the threads mentioned.

I shall watch, wait and hope for the best.
