I would like to know if it is possible to make money on adwords if I work purely as an affiliate without using a website and having no products or inventory apart from links from CJ and clickbank.
I heared these days the margins are very low for affiliates and without proper tracking they will lose their money. Can a pure affiliate track the sales happening on vendor's sites to find which keywords are working and which are losing.
I will really appreciate your advice because the last time i tried adwords i lost money and am a bit apprehensive now.

The answer is, yes you can make money, potentially thousands a month or more. There is more competition everyday so margins at least in some areas are shrinking. Most affiliate programs, CJ and LInkShre included do provide ways to track which keywords are converting.

Don't gamble with money you can't afford to lose as most of the easy money is gone. Treat it like a trip to a casino, set aside some cash you can part with and if you are not turning a profit by the time it is used up, stop.

Building sites is a much better way to go in the long term though it does take time to ramp up and there is no guarantee that will be profitable either.
