I have been tracking on paper some words that I paid for to get in the #1 spot. They start off with a pretty skimpy click through rate for the first two days, then get better and better. Why is this? You would think if you are in the top position you would get the same response on day 1 as day 20 all else being equal. I find this strange, unless someone can explain this behavior. Thanks...

Well not sure if you are using search, content or both - but if you have a good CTR, over time Google will get it out to their search network, many which display the top 3-4 ads above the listings and thus giving you the possibility of a higher CTR.
