AFter reading all the "advantages" of adwords program, I would like to know if I can choose the place where the ad will appear, on the right, on the top of the webs, or google take the decision. In my opinion, ads on the right side of the web work better than on the left side. Could anyone to tell me more about this?

You can't exactly pick the location, any more than you can specify a particular position. That said, if your average position is 2.5 to 9, you are more likely to be in the right side column on the first page. The top center positions could contain, on any particular search, 0-3 ads, with no clear answer as to how G determines which and how many ads are placed there.
