But since it is a rather new concept, I will mention making sure that all the keywords in the 'no show' Ad Groups have their Max CPCs set higher than the minimum bid required to run.
One other thing: do you mean that you don't actually see the ads when you look for them? Or do you mean that you're getting zero impressions?

Certain keywords are not showing despite being under budget and above minimum bid amount. The strange thing is similar keywords (different brand of widget) within the SAME adgroup are however showing. When checking the SERPs, there are instances where there are some competitor ads but not mine. So I ran the Ad Diagnostic Tool which returned: Ad not shown ¦ Reason: Unknown.
What does this mean?
Your ad is not being shown for reasons unknown to the Ads Diagnostic Tool.
What can I do?
Our engineers have been notified of this problem with the Ads Diagnostic Tool and we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
There is definitely a bug somewhere yet. Emailed support and they mentioned something like "non family safe" terms.
But what I can't understand is why :
"widgets" is shown and
"widgets online" is not shown.
If one is "non family safe" then I'm sure the other must can't be "family safe" , right?
That's not all, I've a bunch of "active keywords" which are not getting any impressions now. Before this change, there were tons of impressions at $0.05.
Some of these "active keywords" are above $0.05 and some below but I don't see any impressions for them.
Why?
Basically we're getting 0 impressions, bid price is way over minimum. There was even a point where I raised the CPC to $7.00 just to see if I could force it onto the pages. No luck.
Not exactly happy to see that other people have the problem, but relieved to know that we're not the only one. Shor, thanks for the tip on using the ad diagnostic tool. When I do this it gives me this notice:
The clickthrough rate (CTR) for this keyword does not meet the minimum performance requirement
And it asks me to optimize keywords and ad text. This normally would be fine, except for the fact that the ads it shows for the keywords in question are from the OTHER ad group in the campaign. It's true that we just remodeled our campaigns and that all keywords in the group started at 0 impressions but if this was the problem our entire account would be stopped. Puzzling...
I'm guessing I should just shoot an e-mail over to my account rep. This seems to be something that needs to be fixed manually. Tell me what you think. Thanks!

Murdoch, I always promote the idea of contacting AdWords support right away when seeing something that seems odd. They have the benefit of being able to see the account, which of course we do not. Being able to look at the account in detail makes troubleshooting much more straightforward.
That said, it almost sounds like a case of the keywords in one Ad Group 'stealing impressions' from the keywords in the other Ad Group (as if the system sees them as the same keywords, in other words.) But it would take a look the account itself to check this out.
