G'morning folks,

Its monday morning and for me its the same old mess as we have seen for the last few days. Not'in has changed.
Minimum bids are still ridiculously high and I aint gonna pay 5 bucks for "litte red widget for rent in the suburbs of up-yours-town". Guess I'll have to go through the process of manually clickin' and adding hundreds of keywords again to see for how long they will stay active on 10 cents. Flippin' burgers might be more fun and profitable. OK, i'll stop complaining and patiently wait for what Big G will bring us on this wonderful new day.
At least the sun is shining here...

By the way, the 10 cent keywords now only last less than an hour. Adwords spendings are down 90% here.
Hmmmpf. Guess its time to go out for a walk...

I'm actually seeing lower min bids now. But some ads still can't be seen even when the associated keywords are "active".

Fingers crossed, hope things will get better soon.

Hi,

I've just seen one of my CPCs drop to 0.01, all in the hands of Budget Optimizer, no input from me at all!

HB, do you try to optimize your account? This sounds a bit like the "my accounts keeps to be slowed and my keywords disabled" from before the change.

btw I'm on holiday so I'm a bit quiet these days. Nice timing Google :)

Yeah, I think I did some proper optimizing.
Such as using negative keywords, re-writing ads, site exclusion, etcetera. But no matter what I do, the minimum bids of my keywords remain ridiculously high ($ 0.20 to
$ 5.00). Should optimizing lower the cpc?

Hi HB,

Have you rewritten your ad headlines to exactly match (not template with {keyword}) your keywords? G seems to reward that quite strongly though it is certainly NOT the whole story.

Thanks for being so helpful Damon!
But I indeed tried that. The title for one of my ads is for example "Blue widget problems".
And then if I add the key sentence
"Blue widget problems" (with or without brackets, it don't matter), Google charges me $ 1.00 for that key sentence or otherwise I must "Increase quality". I have no idea how my keywords could match the ad text better. They are duplicates right now. The strange thing is, even if I add that key sentence to a completely other campaign for an other product, the minimum bid still is $ 1,00.

Hi HB,

I think that you have to check directly with G if something else about your account, eg how long you've been using it, or what other keywords you use, or how you have structured your ad groups, etc, is causing you to be penalised in some way.
