I am at #1 for my keyword

I think this is improbable...explanation?

I bid the very minimum on a particular keyword. There are usually several advertisers above me who have much higher budgets and much higher CPC rates. (I know this as I also run adsense on my site which is targetted to the same keyword and several higher paying ads are displaying) Well tonight I went to google and typed in my keyword and I come up as the ONLY advertiser, even above the search results highlighted in blue. How is this possible when if you click through to my site at least 3 advertisers still appear on my adsense. The only thing I can think of is they turn off the "search network" and only advertise on the "content network" after a certain time but that seems too odd that all the advertisers would do this, and at the same time. Any Ideas?

My hunch: depending on a variety of factors (notably daily budgets being lower than that required to run 24/7) it is entirely possible for searches to deliver different ads (and different numbers of ads) from one click to the next.
