Hi guys,
Does anyone know if the Google Adwords tracking reports multiple sales if the same person buys from my website a second or third time?

What about the Overture Tracking system?

If you run a custom report and choose to display both conversions and transactions, you'll see both initial sales and repeat sales.

Conversions are sales based on the initial visit.
Transactions are sales which occurred within 30 days of the initial click.

Thanks eWhisper, I was totally lost before your reply.

Are those Google's definitions or yours?
The reason I ask is that after reading your answer and running a custom report they look to be:

Conversions are the first sale recorded
Transactions are the initial sale plus any subsequent sales upto 30 days later but potentially on the same visit as the first sale.

You're correct, transactions are everything. I forgot I have my system set to auto subtract conversions from transactions to see repeat/later buyers.

On further investigation it appears that Overture's conversion tracking tool reports what Google would call "transactions". So for anyone who is comparing the two you need to compare Google's 'transactions' to Overture's 'conversions'.

I wonder how many people like me have been comparing Adwords Conversions with Overture Conversions by mistake?

This is based on the last time I checked, which was a while ago - if anyone can verify this is still the process, always good.

Google assigns the sale to the day the click occurred (i.e. If I click today, but next week, today will be credited with the sale).
Overture assigns the sale to the day the sale occurred.

Overture assigns the sale to the day the sale occurred.

I believe this is true.
I had credit card trouble and my campaign was offline but I still made plenty of sales over those days according to Overture.
So basically no new clicks (actually 5 clicks but I don't know why) and 10 sales.
