I have not been able to login to adwords for over an hour today - could this be the changes being made?
Timeline
Approximately one month.
Google will make another announcement before the change actually happens. They're really giving us time to make changes and get ready for this.
Google has said already said they'll send out another notice before it actually goes live.
I heard a rumour it was going to be Monday the 1st of August. but that would be a lot sooner than expected.

And not quite good for Canadian advertisers; August 1st is a holiday, and a lot of people will be away.
I don't think they've thought of that. I just called my rep, got redirected to someone else, and asked about the launch date. She said "We don't have an exact date yet, but it is coming pretty soon."
After I informed her of the holiday, she was slightly surprised, and said "oh, we didn't know that, I'll pass that on to the product team".
This would be extremely inconvenient for us (and probably others), as no one is in the office and on alert to monitor for this change. One wonders why Google is making such a dramatic change to the keyword landscape without notifying advertisers of a date in advance. A few of my colleagues are kind of pissed off now, as they've had to change their holiday plans.
And no, an email Sunday night for a Monday morning change is not sufficient.

bakedjake, while not everyone in AdWords support may be aware that there is a Canadian holiday on Monday, those who plan for launches are certainly aware of such things, and always try to plan accordingly.

As a courtesy to this forum, I'd like to set everyone's mind at ease regarding the Monday holiday. Although the date for launch is not yet set, I do know that these changes will not be implemented on Monday. So you need not worry on that account.
