Pre-Prepopulating Search Terms

so users don't have to rekey their query...

Is it possible to prepopulate a search term in MY search box on my site?

It seems silly for a user to search Google for "blue widgets" only to get to my site, and then search for the same term again.

As long as it's not adsense, that should be fine.

However, if you know the search term, why not take them to the results of that search instead of making them actually hit the button to search?

eWhisper, you took the words right out of my, well, my...composing window! While I was composing. ;)

I agree completely.

Biggerfish, if you're advertising 'blue widgets', then by all means take your potential customer to the page on your site most relevant to blue widgets.

The AdWords program actually allows you to take the user to a different page on your site per keyword, if you wish, which gives you a great deal of control.
