Essel, regardless of how you achieve this (and the AdWords API may be an answer for you) please be aware of server delays.

Specifically, any change you make in your account will not happen immediately. There will always be a delay while a very large number of servers are updated. Depending on a variety of factors, this delay can range from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours.

This is important to keep in mind, as you seek to 'pump up the volume' for a single hour. You'll actually need to start early, and anticipate a delay in the lowering of the volume too.

I am referring to AdWords BTW, as I have no personal experience with O.

As an aside, you can use the Overture API todo the same thing as the AdWords API. However, the updates are pretty much real time so you have some very tight control over which times your ads are shown in various positions. (Not meant to be a slight against Google, just different ways they do the updating).

There are also some bid management tools that will also do this for you. If you do a few searches for bid management tools, you'll find a plethora of software offerings to examine.

Thank you both.

Which is my problem! IF anyone has personal experiences/examples I'll be happy to look at them via sticky.

Thanks

I've seen this question come along more than once. I think what's really useful is not that we can set the prices at a fixed time, but that Google offer a functionality to change prices at a given time. This would also prevent a delay, I presume every server has a clock?
