Identifying content network clicks

Is it as simple as it seems?

I know that pagead2.googlesyndication.com in a referrer string means that a click has come from a content network advert.

But can you say that if the referrer string does not contain pagead2.googlesyndication.com that it is definitely not from a content advert?

More important than if it is comming from content or not....

Which content sites is it comming from....

I've been racking my brain all week trying to get my stats software to parse out the data.

For example my logs show this when I get a content click.

pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-7148367039965331&dt=1121719281703&lmt=1121719281&format=468x60_as&output=html&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.EXAMPLE.com%2Fmoney_management%2Fspending&color_bg=EBFFED&color_text=6F6F6F&color_link=0000CC&color_url=008000&color_border=A8DDA0&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.EXAMPLE.com%keyword_keyword3&cc=100&u_h=768&u_w=1024&u_ah=738&u_aw=1024&u_cd=32&u_tz=-240&u_his=35&u_java=true&utmp=/index3.htm HTTP/1.1" 200 35 "

I can see the content website name.... (It is just called Example.com in this example....)

I need to be able to track these and then check conversions on them as well. Then I can start adding the bogus sites to the blocked list.....

Anyone doing this already?

www.example.co.uk?type={ifsearch:GoogleAdWordsSearch}{ifcontent:GoogleAdWordsContent}

Firstly, Inasisi - thank you!

Does anyone know if, with the above, that the "search" refers to the search network including Google or just the search network.

Search does include google and the search partners.
