Hello all,
just a little rant. I have found that google actually charge you each time a user used their back button on their browser, as in when they go back to the google search page.

This is an issue that i picked up recently.
does anyone have any ideas how i can stop this from happening?

Cheers

you mean disabling the back button (a form of hijacking that i personally hate) or are you asking for tips so that people dont leave the page so quickly?

How? I am not clear. Please explain! how and when does google charge for using a back button?

Damn this should be in the adwords form but anyway....

I have been checking my logs,
and i have gone over and over to see if my findings are right.
I did the test in the morning,
i received 1 click from adwords, but then it said i had two,
it charged me for both.
i then went to my counter logs and had a look,
the user had gone to my home page, 3 other pages of mine then had hit the back button.
when they tapped the back button it went to the link that google sent to my site eg

google.com/url?sa=l&q=http://www.website.com/%3Fse%3Dgoogle%26kw%3Dmail%2520drop&ai=B-WakGezUQpLHIc2e4AHRz9WLBPTZ9QX2ivOQAZW80QiQ9B0QARgBKAg4AED6E0iMOVC4xLY7mAGvTsgBAQ&num=1

on this click their browser went back to my website. so i got charged AGAIN!
that is why im intrested in stoping the back button from working.
Cheers.

I am pretty sure that Google uses some kind of unique value in their links to prevent double charging for page refresh (F5) or back button usage.
