I am presently working for a charity organisation in the UK and they wish to use Google Adwords in their marketing effort.

They are a non profit organisation and want to know if they can use Google Adwords for free ..

I have noticed adverts in my adsense for charities and was wondering if these were for free.

Does anyone know the answer to this?

The original announcemnet of AdWords said PSAs were US only for a while.

Hunt round the Google site, or ask in the feedback form if that has changed.

Designhaus, below you'll find a link to more information about Google Grants, which is most probably the program you had in mind.

One of the links from the above page is this one, which gives details concerning eligibility:

On that page, you'll find that while the program does plan to serve non-U.S. charitable organizations in the future, it is currently constrained to organizations based in the United States who have current 501(c)(3) status.

I'd love to see the grants program expanded to the Netherlands as well :)

I have a meeting with the person in charge next week HitProf, and I'll be certain to mention the groundswell of interest from the Netherlands! ;)
