I have had my adwords account only 4 hours so i dont expect many clicks .. well one actually.
but it says ive had Two clicks..
odd..
whats worse i set my CPC to 0.20 NZD and i have been charged an average CPC of 0.36 NZD

im being charged for extra clicks and more than my specified maximum CPC!

Welcome to the AdWords forum ezyid!

There are a few things to keep in mind here:

While the AdWords reporting system is pretty fast, there is typically a lag between the time people click on the ads and when they show up in the AdWords interface. It is not true real time reporting.

When an account is just getting started, you may see 2 clicks and one impression but if the stats are viewed the following day, everything should be caught up and the numbers will make sense.

As far as the CPC charged, if you have CPCs set at the AdGroup and keyword level, make sure the max CPC set at the keyword level is the one you want to go with. Keep the daily budget low at first so as to cap expenses.

Finally, it can take a while to get the hang of the AdWords system. You might consider allocating a small test budget to try different things and get the hang of it. Over time, it works very well and I have never experienced Google charging a higher CPC than the max CPC set by the advertiser.
