This is a very sore point: clicking the text "Sponsored listings" leads to the top advertiser's site which is unfair for the advertiser in question. He has to pay for clicks most likely meant to be inquiries for Google.

Just to clarify this is only for the "sponsored links" text for the spot on top of the serp, not for the column on the right.

HitProf you are completly right. It is very unfair and a potential pr nightmare for Google.

Try it when there are two ads in the top slot.

The whole blue area to the right of the ad texts is clickable - and with no indication or distinction as to which of the ads you're clicking on, or to who's site you are being sent.

Hover around the top and you'll click through the ad on the top. Hover around the bottom and it'll direct you to the site of the second top spot advertiser.

Hover around the middle and through who's ad will you click through? Seems somewhat 'blurry' to me.

Or, am I missing the point and this 'blurring' has always existed?

HitProf, I've just quoted you in the Advertiser Feedback Report, and I'll also talk it over in person with the right folks early next week.

I appreciate your having brought it up, and thanks for the other comments as well.
