Bidding 1 bid for content and a different bid for search
How do you do that?

I still want to be exposed to content, but I recently had to switch it off for some campaigns after being ripped off.

2 identical campaigns. One campaign for content and one for Google or Googe + the search option turned on.

Well, the problem with that is that, as far as I can tell, you can't have just a content campaign. It's Google + content, and it makes a mess of things.
And I actually did what you've suggested, setting it up the other day because it's all I could think of, but so far it's only shown up as Google impressions, and still no content yet.

Your content campaign needs to have the bids set lower than the Google campaign.
Just a note, I have some Google accounts that don't get much content traffic due to the nature of their product or service.

And usually, it takes a couple of days until your ads appear on Content network (same as for Search, but you don't notice that, since you have Google impressions)
