Google Advertising Professional

Qualification Status is wrong

It's always bugged me that, even though I had met all other requirements for the Google Advertising Professional _other than_ taking the exam, under Qualification Status it still said "Requirements not yet met".

I dismissed my concern though by telling myself it was referring to that one last requirement, passing the exam.

Wrong. I passed the exam the other night, and my page now reflects that, but it still says under Qualification Status, "Requirements not yet met".

I signed up for the program in November of last year and immediately added one of my best clients accounts to My Client Center. Since then, that client has always maintained several thousand dollars of spending.

I have contacted Adwords Support but I'm getting boilerplate "here are the requirements for the Google Advertising Program" responses.

IIRC, someone here had a similar problem recently and I think even mentioned a phone number support that they called.

Does anyone know a better way to get support with this issue other than emailing adwords-support@. I've got a very important client meeting that I'm putting off because he specifically asked if I was a QGAP (new acronym :)).

You have to pass the exam and then wait THREE months(!). Tell the client that you met all the reqs, you passed the exam, and you're waiting for the certification.

I belive it takes 2-4 business days for the MCC to reflect the fact that you've met all the requirements.

You don't have to wait 3 months after taking the exam to receive the qualification, the 3 months is only for the spend amount in your MCC.

Nice catch, HitProf - I missed that subtle change.

It does make quite a difference to larger agencies who have many MCCs, but might not worry about taking the test immediately.

Your original instinct was correct eWhisper, my account showed all requirements met 2 days later.

I think the 90 day confusion on the other thread HitProf was because Google Adwords apparently didn't send him his application email in a timely manner.

I don't know if this is a coincidence but I received an e-mail today from AP support that the GAP application e-mail finally has been found. Its date was 3 march 2005 i.s.o. 31 december 2004 (when the mcc account started).

In the case above, instead of sending the email when his account was started (December) they sent it in March.
