It's a record. I've started maybe four threads since first posting in this Forum, with two of them being in the past two days!

Anyway per frequent requests heard on this Forum, I wanted to give all you advance notice that this Friday, 5/20, the AdWords system will be unavailable from roughly 9 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. PDT (US), for system maintenance.

A UI message will also appear in your accounts before too long.

And as always, you have our apology for any inconvenience that this'll cause. I do hope, though, that the early notice will allow you to plan accordingly.

OK. Now I'm going to skate dangerously close to promotion (heheh) and mention that this announcement (and other similar announcements in the future) will also appear on the (new!) AdWords blog, "Inside AdWords".

I'm not going to drop the URL though. ;)

Still, you'll find it easily enough, if you go to a well known search engine and search on keywords such as 'adwords info', and look to the right. ;)

AWA

PS - Want to leave feedback about Inside AdWords? You can do it here of course, but donít forget that "Send us an email" link at the lower right corner of the page. I'll be reading those emails, along with a bunch of other folks. ;)

AWA,

I can't find the blog in europe. I think that given the relevance to this forum no-one will object to URL dropping so can you please tell us the URL?

Great question, benevolent001! And I'm learning a real-time lesson in clarity.

Please be assured that AdWords will be running, absolutely as normal, during this time. It is just that advertiser access will be interrupted for a short period.

So, no, there is no need to pause.

To further clarify:

Ads will appear as normal, and stats will still be accrued as normal. You just won't be able to get into your account for the period of the maintenance.

I, very glad you asked this. And sorry for the moment of uncertainty!

Hehe, I also checked out the AdSense one too, and got the password protection popup.

Inside AdWords is now added to my reader :)

Hmmm. Not sure what their plans are, but maybe the Inside AdWords team members have a new role as guinea pigs? Heheh.

Inside AdWords is now added to my reader :)

Cool! Thanks Jenstar. :)

Hi

I'm sure you meant the best when you posted

These ads or links are not visible in the UK, I have been busy clicking peoples ads, I'm sure they are not going to be very pleased.

Can you just post the link, I'm sure the mods won't object to an offical post.

Dregs33, I actually did post the link, after Robsp's earlier request.(Unless I'm losing my mind, and wrote it without posting it.) It's gone now, though, so I guess it wasn't ok after all. And my apology to the Mods.

Thanks for the heads up on the system maintenance.

(sorry - we don't do press/blog/sales or other self promotional links on WebmasterWorld - never have.)

I see on the blog they're not hurrying to clarify things.

One that reads there could misunderstand :
"the AdWords system will be unavailable from approximately 9 p.m. to 9:45"

I understand they are at the beginning, but they're doing themselves a big disadvantage (just think how many advertisers will pause their campaigns!).

That is one of the moments when I truly appreciate this forum and AWA's presence (no flattery intended)!

I've noticed that the Adwords image does not work, possibly due to the differing connection type: (https for image, http for the document)

I guess the person who set it up won't have noticed due to their cache of the image.

I'd suggest copying the image to a non https location and changing the source of the pic.

P.S. Any Google goodies wouldn't go amiss for this earth shattering suggestion ;)
