Any advice AWA?
I do know that the AdWords system can occasionally 'ping' disabled keywords, and let them run again for a short time, by way of collecting more data. But I've only heard of this happening for short periods. And I certainly wouldn't let it be a reason to hang on to disabled keywords.
I also wonder if may have been a delay in updating stats. I.e. the disabled label was applied before the actual stats had been delivered. This can happen when a keyword accrues impressions very quickly, as is often the case for single-word and general keywords.
I wonder if keywords are like the ads? Someone reviews them, but then a high up could over rule their decision. That might be the case here.
Nope. The system that disables keywords doesn't include human intervention - even from managers. It's all math. ;)
The keyword in question generated over 50 clicks yesterday with an average postion of 1.1 and a 4.3 CTR.
Is it still running? If so, and you're truly curious, you might want to contact AdWords support and they can probably have the tech folks take a look.
