In anticipation of coming changes (CPM) I've created a couple of banners and set them up in a new campaign to be distributed on the content network, thinking it might give me an idea of what people will click. After 3 days there 0 impressions.

OK, I must be doing something wrong, but what? Budget too low, banners too shabby, wrong niche? I would have thought a few impressions would have been recorded by now.

Help?

One thing that might be relevant. I am targeting a single keyword in my new campaign. Call it an effort at branding. But the same keyword is also used in a different campaign. The difference between the two campaigns is: one is search network only, the other is content network only.

I can't see a problem with this, but what do I know....

1. Does that keyword appear elsewhere in your account?
2. Has the ad been approved?

I've found that image ads usually take a couple days longer than text ads to be approved.

There will be times where you don't get a lot of image ad impressions due to many publishers opting out from showing image ads.

1) Yes. It appears in two separate campaigns, one targeted to search with text ads and the other to content with banners.

2) I assume the ads have been approved. They appear in the Ad Group, everything looks ok. And I haven't heard anything from AdWords telling me otherwise.

>>There will be times ...

OK, I'll buy that. I can see where my direct competition would be among the first. But I believe the keyword might have a broader appeal than the niche of marketers, and thought those ads would appear correspondingly.

I'm trying to learn to become an advertiser between bouts of programming ;) I'm thinking I may have to create ads for all the size options and thus discover what will actually work. In other words, there isn't enough variety yet.
