Hi Guys!

As one of our customers is quite large and globaly spread they have Trademarked the use of their name on all google ads.

Recently they have approached us with some exclusive products to promote via our sites. (we also built & host their website) Problem is that although we have the full approval from the company on using the Trademarked name in the ADs G still wont let it happen. I have searched high and low in the policy procedures on trademarks and the only info i can find is how to register a trademark not request an exception (yes i have tried requesting it several times when i create the AD copy)

Anybody had to do this or know the procedure?

AWA your help would be appreciated

The company has to let Google Adwords know that you are permitted to use the trademarked term:

If certain affiliates or partners are permitted to use your trademark in their ad content, please list the company names in your letter.

They probably filled out the trademark complaint [google.com] at some point, so they would likely need to fill out a new one or revise the original. I can definitely see why they want permission from the company who owns the trademark, rather than from the affiliate who says he is allowed ;)

Thanks Jenstar,

Fully understand their reasons......problem is the product on offer needs to be shown immediately and over a 2 week period, wonder how long this is gonna take

*Sighs*

If they're a large customer, then you probably have a rep.

I'd set up a conference call with the advertiser, G rep, and yourself to lay out exactly what's going on and see how Google can expedite the process.

If they filled out the paperwork as Jenster eluded to above, then it'll probably have to go through legal before it can be shown. Having someone at Google make sure that you have the proper paperwork and can help facilitate for moving things along can be quite useful.

I'm way too late to assist, since Jenstar nailed it. And both she and eWhisper provided a pretty good to-do list. ;)

Best of luck on this, Delegate.
