I significantly increased a bid on a keyword (300%) and it hasn't increased in ranking at all.
This seems a little odd. Is there a sandbox in AdWords now?
Blaze, you didn't mention anything about the timeframe involved here, which can be important - or how you were checking for position. But here are a few time-related factors worth keeping in mind:
* When you make any change, you'll want to give it an hour or so to get the change updated through all the servers involved - before trying to evaluate the effect of the change by actually looking for your ad.
* If you're using your stats to evaluate, then you'll want to recall that stats typically run about three hours behind. And the date range for which you are checking is all-important.
* If you're using the date range of 'Today' to evaluate your stats, be aware that 'today' is measured from midnight PST to about three hours before the time you are checking.
* To really effectively evaluate, it's best to let the ad run at the new CPC until it has had a full 24 hour day at the new CPC, as measured midnight to midnight PST. Then look at the date range of that day only.
