No impressions, no clicks.

One ad group has CTR of 0.5, the other 0.3

Campaign still reads as "active", but nothing is happening. Emailed Google early yesterday, no response yet. Anyone know what is going on?

Even more strange...

I logged in one time recently and the campaign had started moving again.....ie the impressions number had increased quite a bit, and a few more clicks. So I thought, ah! its running again.

THEN< I logged in about an hour later and all the numbers were BACK to their lower values when the campaign hadn't moved for over 24 hours? WHat gives with that?

Is the Adwords system really as buggy as this? Or is it my browser or what?

When a campaign or Ad Group is marked as 'active' it really only means one thing - which is that the campaign or Ad Group is not paused or deleted.

So 'active' should not be interpreted to mean that the ads themselves are running.

For example you could have no ads running because they're all disapproved, or because a credit card has been declined, or for any number of other reasons. But the campaigns or Ad Groups will still be marked 'active', if they are not paused or deleted.

This sort of sounds like a 'Date Range' issue. When you look at your stats you will always be looking at them for a date range that is user settable. So, I'd always take a glance at the date range to which you are set before interpreting your statistics. You'll see this on any of your Campaign Management pages.

In any case, I'm guessing that you'll hear back from support soon, and that the mystery will be solved. I hope you'll let us know what it turned out to be. ;)

All I can say is people in California love to play games, and I think this week is kindergarden week.

I posted how they suspended my ad last night over at Google, and they finally re- enabled it this morning after they emailed me , but now when its prime time hours over in California, (for my peak sales times) its screwed up again. Also, I have a debit card through e-bay, and could not use that to make any purchases at all today, and yes, e-bay is in California too. Sometimes I think these things they do with the money accounts is screwed up, I mean they have control of nearly all my critical cash flow avenues, like the Google adwords, e-bay / Paypal Debit Card and I also have a place in California doing my merchant account for accepting credit cards. What if they ever have an eathquake, and this info gets totalled out? They already have big time power (electric) issues every summer, and I bet this one will be no different.

AWA,

The solution appeared to be the "date range" thing. DOH, I feel so dumb. Oh well, I'm a newbie, I'm allowed to be a bit dumb (err, aren't I?)

Lightpanther, being a newbie at anything complex has got to be one of the toughest jobs on the planet. And AdWords does take some learning!

(I think I once said on this Forum that I felt like a total dork when I went into a music store to buy a bass. But how do you pick a good bass, and pay the right price, when you can't even play one?!)

Anyway, it has nothing to do with being dumb, and a lot to do with still having a few nuances to come up-to-speed on. And you are in exactly the right place to accomplish that, here on WebmasterWorld.

Being a newbie buys you a ton of patience and assistance, in my book. ;)

I wish you every success with AdWords!

Light, I have made more dumb posts than I have made intellegent ones, so don't worry, you're not the only one.

One suggestion is to search through forum titles and see if one pertains to your question. if you don't find your exact answer then post on that forum and it will 'bump' it to the top of the page and bring the issue to light.

Good luck with everything!
